12 Ways to add value to your Figaro
In this edition you will read an interesting article about ways in which you can actually 'add value to your car'. This can be achieved over a period of time depending on how much time you have to carry out the work and funds available. It doesn't need to break the bank either as many are low cost purchases starting at just £3.70.

Lynette & Rob Parsons - South West England Chapter Coordinators
A few days ago we received no less than 7 future 2020 events created by Lynette & Rob and sent to all the members in this chapter. We know the amount of work and effort it takes to create these events and wanted to express our thanks to them both.

Lastly, Members get creative...

Classic Magazine set to feature the Figaro over 8 issues. The editor however needs your help?

My name is Simon Goldsworthy and I lived in Japan when the Figaro was on sale, and I always promised myself that one day I would get one. It has taken me nearly 30 years to do so, but these things can't be rushed!

Back then I taught English as a foreign language, but these days I am the editor of Classics magazine. The plan is that we will feature this Figaro as a project car over eight issues, each instalment running to five pages, and I wonder if fellow Figaro members could help me out. I did buy the Club's Buying Guide and have gone over the car to make an initial list of jobs to be done. Fortunately we appear to have bought a decent example, but I would really value input from somebody with far more hands-on experience of the model. For example, does it drive as it should? Are there any tricks for sorting out those issues that we have found? What improvements would they recommend?

The car is based in Bourne in Lincolnshire, about 15 miles north of Peterborough. If anybody is within striking distance and willing to share their expertise, then please could they contact me on [email protected]

Japanese children's book features Figaro

This colour pop up Children's book by Author Naotaka Mase features a family who go for a drive in what looks looks like a Figaro with no roof!

It is beautifully illustrated and you can still buy it for around £10 plus shipping although the site is in Japanese so you may need to use google translate! Many thanks to Saga Yuki for the book she sent to the club.

About the club

How the club started
My son Daniel had always wanted a Figaro, having seen the car at our local garage when he was just 16. After saving for a number of years (plus a small contribution from his mum and dad) he brought an Emerald Green model in June 2008.

Following the purchase we scoured the internet for a members club in the hope that we could attend events with other owners, but were amazed that none existed...and so the Figaro Owners Club was born!  We decided to build a website and forum which took 6 months, and on the 1st March 2009 we pressed the 'publish button' and waited to see if anyone wanted to join. Within a week we had 10 members, a month 35 and a year 478 members.

Today the club has around 1,250 members worldwide in countries including New Zealand, Japan, Australia, USA, Canada, Germany, Spain, France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Sweden and many more.
We are grateful to you and all our other members for help and encouragement throughout our journey as the club has grown into a passion which has taken over our lives.
Warmest Regards
