Stewardship Report
We have started tracking our weekly giving versus what it takes to keep St. Peter's running.  Each week you will see how the past weeks have fared.  For July, we started off very strong, but have seen a decline in recent weeks.  This is not uncommon in the summer months, but is something we need to pay attention to.  Please help us keep St. Peter's going...and growing.  And thanks for your support!

All $1 bills  in the offering plate this Sunday will go to the Discretionary Fund.

Tuesday Noonday Prayer for Challenging Times
Join us in the Parish Hall Chapel on Tuesdays at Noon for a brief, quiet service.
"HELLO, my name is __________."
Whether you are a long-time member, a frequent visitor, or a newcomer, PLEASE put on a name tag as you enter the church on Sundays. This will help EVERYONE (especially our new deacon-in-charge) learn your name. It only takes a moment, but can make a big impact, especially on those who have never joined us for worship before. To those of you who are already setting a great example by using our handy-dandy stick-on tags.
THANK YOU (and keep up the good work)!
~The Rev. Peggy Cromwell

Pantry Musings
If I have it right, what is needed for salvation according to the New Testament, otherwise, the new covenant, what is required for our salvation is a confession, an ownership, that Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior. That is what the thief did from the cross at the crucifixion of Jesus, and he was promised a place in paradise. That seems very straight forward. What is required of us according to the Gospels is a demonstration of our faith by our love for God and neighbor. Something I talk about in these brief paragraphs a great deal, try to live into, and know that I need God's forgiveness for my many failures to live these two commandments. While there is much more that has been said about salvation, I think that this confession is an adequate working definition. ~Ann Drake

The Human Library Project
The Faulkner County Library is partnering with COHO in a Human Library event.
The Human Library is a library of human beings, each representing a group that is exposed to stigma and discrimination. If you think you would be a candidate to be a Human Book, there will be an organizational meeting at the library on Aug. 18 at 2:00 PM, where we hope to answer your questions.

If you think you would like to check out any one of our fascinating Human Books, we invite you to attend the event itself on Aug. 25 from 1:00-4:00 PM.
