Emma and Henry Wade Rogers Award for Innovation and Impact Honoree Northwestern Settlement is proud to announce we will honor Gillian Fealy at the 127th Annual Meeting on April 25th. Gillian was introduced to the Settlement as an AmeriCorps Project YES! member at Rowe Elementary during it's inaugural year. During her member year she introduced the annual field day that continues today through Global Youth Service Day. Gillian is the owner of Live Grit, a retail store, training studio and community to help and encourage triathletes, new and experienced. Last year Gillian and her Live Grit team launched the first triathlon team at Rowe Elementary School, to teach the athletes the character and grit that will allow them to become future leaders. Last August, 8 scholars crossed the finish line at the Chicago Kids Triathlon. This year's team has doubled in size, and scholars are already working hard on teamwork, accountability, leadership, and grit.
