A Newsletter for Local Partners
The fACTs newsletter is for TSAHC's local partners in the Affordable Communities of Texas (ACT) program. The quarterly newsletter provides information to help make your programs as successful as possible.
TSAHC Seeking Local Partnerships
TSAHC is actively seeking nonprofit or for-profit partners in Bastrop, Wichita Falls and Lufkin.  If you currently work or would consider working in one of these communities, please let us know. Alternatively, let us know if you recommend a nonprofit or for-profit partner we should contact in one of these communities.

If you recommend another partner, please share with them that the ACT program is a statewide land banking and land trust initiative which assists local entities with the acquisition and redevelopment of distressed properties. TSAHC combines its expertise in acquiring land and foreclosed properties with the local developer's knowledge of best construction practices and community needs.

Please note that there are requirements to be a partner organization detailed in our policies and guidelines. There is also a partner application interested organizations must complete.

Thank you in advance for helping us strengthen current relationships and create new ones.
We Accept Donated Properties
Property woman_holding_little_house.jpgdonations are critical to the success of our ACT program. We acquire properties from entities and individuals and add them to our land bank. We then work with our local partners to rehabilitate these properties and sell or lease them to low-income families.

TSAHC has unique statutory authority to own property tax-free, which means we can hold property without carrying costs until we find the right development opportunity. Our efforts to redevelop donated properties stabilize communities and create housing opportunities for working families.

If you or someone you know has property available for donation, we hope you will consider our ACT program as a worthy recipient of that property.  Please contact Jolene Keene for more details.

Introducing Stephanie Levine - Our Colleague for the Summer

We'd like to introduce you to Stephanie Levine, a master's student at UT Austin's LBJ School of Public Affairs. Stephanie is studying public policy, urban affairs and public financial management, and she is supporting our work in Development Finance and the Affordable Communities of Texas program this summer.

Originally from Chicago, Stephanie moved to Austin after spending eight years in Portland and getting her undergraduate degree from Lewis & Clark College in environmental studies. She previously worked in policy research and implementation of utility energy efficiency projects.

If you have the opportunity, please welcome Stephanie to TSAHC. You can email her at [email protected]. We hope you will benefit from her work this summer.
