September Means Soccer, No One Knows That Better Than This Alumna
Balancing the academics and athletics is no easy task. But during her time at ACPHS, Sarah Cope '15 excelled at it. She was named the ACPHS Department of Athletics Female Athlete of the Month in October 2012. Cope was also recognized by the United States Collegiate Athletic Association, receiving USCAA 1st team All-American and earning spots on the USCAA All-Academic Team and the USCAA National Championship All-Tournament
Team.

Since graduating from ACPHS, Cope has completed the Physician's Assistant program at Albany Medical College and is currently finishing her first year as a family medicine PA in the Capital Region. Though she doesn't play soccer as much as she once did, she still makes time for the sport, coaching for the FC Dutchmen U8 team and Broadalbin Youth Commission 1st and 2nd grade teams.

She also makes a point of returning to campus for the annual Alumni Soccer Game. "It's great to get back together with everyone in Albany. It's also a ton of fun to play again."

We look forward to welcoming Cope and all the other players back to Campus on September 29! We invite you to join us to cheer on the Men's and Women's teams, as well as our alumni when they take the field. Learn more here.
Innovation Fund: Thank You

The College launched the Innovation Fund in 2017 by setting our sights higher and making the Innovation Fund more than just an annual fund.

Through the Innovation Fund, we sought support of three student-centric initiatives:
  • Student research in areas like biodefense and cancer prevention
  • A space that would provide much needed health services to an underserved population
  • Residency & Fellowships
We asked and you responded. THANK YOU.

Your support generated more than $472,000 for the Innovation Fund, well over our goal of $400,000.

Because of you, our students have been able to work one-on-one with our faculty like Yana Chen, Meenakshi Malik, and Shaker Mousa researching subjects like biothreat agents, drug synthesis, and design and synthesis of molecular probes and therapeutic agents.

It means that the Collaboratory will officially open its doors this fall. Together with a professional Public Health and Pharmacy team our students will tackle the challenge of providing health care to the residents living in Albany's South End neighborhood.

Last, through residency and fellowships our students gained experience in specialty areas of pharmacy and the health sciences under the mentorship of a faculty member.

Your donations made all of this possible. Thank you again for all you do for ACPHS. We are so proud to be a part of such a generous community.
Alumni Magazine to Hit Mailboxes Soon with Great Stories Like This

When he was a boy, Phil O'Neill '59 thought the profession of pharmacy was shrouded in mystery.

That curiosity turned into a successful career in the field. Since graduating from ACP, O'Neill has held the titles of pharmacist, business owner, advocate, and CEO. And he isn't slowing down.

Read about O'Neill and his accomplishments in the upcoming Alumni Magazine. Not sure if we have your address? Email us at [email protected] to update your contact information.
