The College launched the Innovation Fund in 2017 by setting our sights higher and making the Innovation Fund more than just an annual fund.
Through the Innovation Fund, we sought support of three student-centric initiatives:
- Student research in areas like biodefense and cancer prevention
- A space that would provide much needed health services to an underserved population
- Residency & Fellowships
We asked and you responded. THANK YOU.
Your support generated more than $472,000 for the Innovation Fund, well over our goal of $400,000.
Because of you, our students have been able to work one-on-one with our faculty like Yana Chen, Meenakshi Malik, and Shaker Mousa researching subjects like biothreat agents, drug synthesis, and design and synthesis of molecular probes and therapeutic agents.
It means that the Collaboratory will officially open its doors this fall. Together with a professional Public Health and Pharmacy team our students will tackle the challenge of providing health care to the residents living in Albany's South End neighborhood.
Last, through residency and fellowships our students gained experience in specialty areas of pharmacy and the health sciences under the mentorship of a faculty member.
Your donations made all of this possible. Thank you again for all you do for ACPHS. We are so proud to be a part of such a generous community.
