All City offices, including the Buda Public Library, will be closed on Monday, Jan. 20, 2020 in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
City of Buda
Pet Registration Information
Buda City Council recently approved changes to the pet registration ordinance. Instead of a yearly pet registration, Buda Animal Control has now moved to a lifetime pet registration. Currently, there is no cost to register your pet through September 30, 2020.
A few months ago we told you about Betty X. Davis. Betty recently turned 104-years-old and lives at Sodalis Assisted Living & Memory Care in Buda. For her birthday she wanted people to donate 104 books that she could then pass on to a local elementary school. Last week delivered the donated books to Tom Green Elementary.
AGE of Central Texas
Caregiver Support Seminar
AGE of Central Texas will host a free caregiver support seminar exploring “Meaningful Activities for Persons with Dementia” on Saturday, January 18, 2020. Part of the on-going workshop series to help family members effectively care for an older adult, the free seminar will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Onion Creek Senior Center, located at 420 Barton Crossing in Buda.
The Area Agency on Aging of the Capital Area and the Buda Task Force on Aging have teamed up for a Chronic Disease Self-Management Program. There is no cost, but class size is limited.
By April 1, 2020, every home will receive an invitation to participate in the 2020 Census. Once the invitation arrives, you should respond for your home in one of three ways: online, by phone, or by mail. Accurate counts impact federal funding levels and representation in the state and federal level.
The Buda City Council has established a Complete Count Committee (CCC) for the City of Buda. CCC's are volunteer committees whose purpose is to increase awareness and motivate residents to respond to the 2020 Census.
Unflocked Christmas trees will be picked up curbside on regularly scheduled green waste pick-up days. Trees must be clear of décor, cut into 4’ pieces and set outside at the curb. They will be brought to a collection station and ground into mulch.
With so many construction projects happening we decided to create a page on our website dedicated to construction updates. You can find it at ci.buda.tx.us/budaconstruction.We will keep this page updated and continue to post updates on our social media channels. Construction updates are also running on the monitors in the lobby of the Municipal Building.
