Wednesday Bible Studies
Wednesdays, 6:45-8:00pm.

Learning from the Word and Loving Jesus
Led by Pastor Tim, Fireside Room 253

Many of us have struggled to consistently read, study, and benefit from the Bible because we don’t know how to get to the meaning and personal application. This class is about becoming equipped to read, study, and apply the Bible so that it comes alive for us and changes us. We will learn a lot about the Bible itself and practice using some key questions and techniques for the interpretation and personal application of various kinds of texts. Take your Bibles along to the class. But a book entitled, “A Visual Theology Guide to the Bible” will also serve as a resource for us. Please sign up and let us know if you plan to participate so that we know how many books to order. Note that it is OK if you sometimes travel or for other reasons are unable to make it to the class. Come when you can and you will benefit from our learning and practice together. Books and sign-up sheets will be available in the Sanctuary this Sunday. If you would be able to help cover the cost of the book ($10 suggested), you can bring the money to the first night of class.

Go Fish – Women’s Bible Study
Led by Polly Johnson, Room 250

This new study by Andy Stanley will take the struggle out of sharing your faith. Go Fish offers a new perception of the word "evangelism" by showing how believers can make it natural, easy part of everyday life. Divided into a six-session study, participants will enjoy the DVD lessons and thought-provoking study guide that help change the way they view sharing their faith.
REAL Men
Friday, February 7, 7am, Arnie's Restaurant.
REAL Men is a group that believes God is actively working in our lives, and that we all have a story that He wants us to tell. It is not a Bible study or an accountability group, and it is not exclusive to RRC, so invite others! Each meeting will feature a speaker. Meet at Arnie's Restaurant, 34 S Squires St, downtown Rockford. The restaurant isn't open at that time, so we have the place to ourselves. Coffee and refreshments will be provided.
Missions Chili Cook-off
Sunday, February 16, 12:!5pm in the gym.
Season up those chili pots! We are looking for 20 people to enter our chili cook-off on February 16. If you want to offer cheese or sour cream as well, go ahead and bring it. We will provide hot dogs, tortilla chips, oyster crackers, and dessert. To enter, please RSVP with your name and the type of chili to connect@rockfordrc.org . more info
Ladies' Book Club
Thursday, February 27, 7-8:30pm, Fireside Room.
The Ladies Book Club is always open to new faces! We typically meet the last Thursday of the month at 7pm in the Fireside Room (may be adjusted due to holidays). This is not a Bible study or religious book study – books from a wide variety of genres are picked. February's book is TBA.
new Adult Single Ladies' Lunch
Saturday, February 29, 1pm; pizza, dessert, games, and fellowship in the Fireside Room.
Each month we meet at a restaurant, then head back to church for games and dessert in the Fireside Room. Please RSVP with Carol Knox.
new High School Fundraiser Dinner
Sunday, March 1, 12:30pm in the gym.
Family and friends are invited to join us for a delicious dinner and to support our High School Youth Group as they raise funds for their mission trips and retreats! Menu TBA.
Life Groups
A Life Group is a small group of 8-12 people that focuses on three priorities – sharing, study, and support. Life Group members will commit to meet together at least every other week through the school season—and even better, through the summer. We call these “Life Groups” because they are focused on (1) helping us grow in our life in Christ and (2) sharing life together. If you are interested in joining a life group or starting one up, please contact the front office.
Blood Pressure Screening
2nd Sunday of each month, Room 211
A note from the RRC Health Ministry: Many people suffer from hypertension, sometimes unaware of it. Routine blood pressure screening is one way to either screen for elevated blood pressures or monitor control (if on medication for high blood pressure). Your health ministry RNs offer blood pressure screening the second Sunday of every month and upon request. They are located in Room 211 (behind the sanctuary) after the morning service. Feel free to stop by to have your pressure checked. Contact Wilma Nelson at 616-690-4479 if you want to be checked at a time other than the second Sunday.
