Major League Soccer's all-star celebration brings thousands to Commerce City mls

Once again Commerce City is on the world stage as Major League Soccer held its Annual All-Star Game Wednesday at Dick's Sporting Goods Park featuring some of the best players in the world. This is the second time the All-Star game has been hosted by Commerce City, the last being 2007 when the stadium opened.

"Commerce City has a love for the sport and a commitment to creating a competitive business environment both on and off the field," said Mayor Sean Ford. "That's why the city partnered with Kroenke Sports Entertainment to create Dick's Sporting Goods Park and Victory Crossing. Today, more than 1.6 million visitors annually come to Commerce City to enjoy world-class soccer, sport and entertainment." Experts estimate the event generated $21 million in regional economic benefits. Learn more about the impact of the All-Star Game here.

Airport deal leads to new chapter for business development and job creationairport

Commerce City opened a new chapter in cooperative business development and job creation for Denver International Airport (DIA) and the region it serves. After more than two years of discussions, officials unveiled a modification to the original 1988 agreement that enabled the creation of DIA and guides commercial development.

Under the terms of the agreement, which must be approved by voters in Denver and Adams County this fall, Denver would pay $10 million to Adams County and its communities to create a 1,500-acre pilot program that would allow for commercial development barred under the 1988 agreement. Denver will split tax proceeds in half with Adams County, which will dole out the money to Aurora, Commerce City, Thornton, Brighton and Federal Heights. DIA would get to keep all of the income from land leases.

With nearly 12 square miles of available land directly bordering the airport, Commerce City's comprehensive plan aligns with the vision of an Aerotropolis, fueled by aviation-focused businesses and related enterprises. New Commerce City business showcases "co-sharing"cosharing

A new Commerce City business will facilitate "co-sharing" or  bringing multiple businesses, like-minded individuals, and entrepreneurs together at one location to leverage resources.

The Office Share recently opened up in Belle Creek and they believe the co-sharing model is a great fit for the area. "We are excited to begin this journey with other small and startup businesses in Commerce City," said Noah Seis owner of The Office Share.

Seis, who runs a Voice Over Internet Protocol business grew tired of the commute to downtown Denver and the time away from family.

The co-sharing concept has been used in heavily urban areas like downtown Denver but hadn't really branched out to suburban areas until recently. For more information about The Office Share visit them online at theofficeshare.com or give them a call at (720) 310-1999.
