Robo Ruckus

You’re invited to our exclusive, members-only event, Robo Ruckus! Families of all ages will enjoy make-and-take activities, seeing the world through Virtual Reality, challenging a robot in tic-tac-toe, and more. You won’t want to miss a talk from our special guest, Joel Kuntz, an artist famous for his GloboBots , and other talks about space robots and humanity.

Spring into Science
April 6-10 | 11:00am – 3:00pm daily

Celebrate Earth! Recognize the resources that help us in our everyday lives with fun activities throughout the museum, including getting up close with vampires of the Great Lakes, interacting with live baby animals, witnessing the Bee Green Plastic STEAM Machine turn old plastic into new creations, and more.   • Enjoy FREE general museum admission to the Institute after 5pm on March 6 for Free First Friday, courtesy of the Masco Corporation Foundation. Southfield Residents will also receive FREE tickets to the Acheson Planetarium with proof of residency on a first-come, first-served basis.

Science Corner
Now on display at the Institute! We’re showcasing 20 specimens from our collections vault that haven’t been featured in the Mineral Gallery in more than 20 years. We’ve also added to our opal case to now include opalized wood and other opal specimens that are vibrant in color. Stop by to get an up-close look!
