Facing Racism: A Churchwide Policy on Antiracism
Racism is the opposite of what God intends for humanity. It is the rejection of the other, which is entirely contrary to the Word of God incarnate in Jesus Christ. Racism is a lie about our fellow human beings, for it says that some are less than others. Because of our biblical understanding of who God is and what God intends for humanity, the PC(USA) must stand against, speak against and work against racism.

As part of an ongoing campaign to address racial injustice, the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) is sharing a wealth of antiracism resources - including studies, books and training - to equip the greater church to work against racism. We hope you'll return to this site frequently as links to new resources are added between now and the 223rd General Assembly in June 2018.

ROCHESTER, NY - After 170 years on Mt. Hope Avenue, South Presbyterian Church voted to sell its historic building on Easter Sunday 2014, a day chosen by the congregation for its symbolism of resurrection.

"We presented the new owners, a Free Methodist congregation, with the trowel used to lay the building's cornerstone in 1894, and used again for an expansion of the church in the 1920s.
