There is usually some sort of restriction on items brought from the States into Canada. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has determined
that
"all raw poultry and all poultry products and by-products that are not fully cooked, including eggs and raw pet foods, sourced, processed, or packaged from [most mid-west] states are under restriction until further notice. You may not bring these items into Canada." More details can be found on
their website. We have given our local grocer a 'heads up' that they may need to increase their inventory of chicken and eggs.
Potatoes are allowed as long as they are store bought and in original packaging, not loose/bulk.
