Colonela Ellison arranged a full day of briefings and activities which began with an up to date briefing of 7th Marines' deployment at various places in the world; hands on indoor simulated marksmanship; static display and walk thorough of an M1A1 Abrams Tank; lunch in he Corporal Dunham chowhall; live fire rifle shoot; and a gun truck convoy static display.
We were escorted by Lt.s Clark and Wyckoff and other Marines throughout the day.
At the completion of our day in the filed we were greeted by Colonel Ellison and
Sgt Major Zapata at the 7th Regiment Command Post where we engaged in a
Q and A session and refreshments and were invited to join members of the command staff at the O Club. A few members accepted the invitation and found themselves to be part of a hail and farewell celebration for Sgt Major Zapata who is transferring out of the Regiment.
