Salvation Army Drive

It is that time of year where we collect shoes for those in need through the annual Let Someone Fill Your Shoes campaign. Peabody has participated in this worthy event for many years and we not only collect shoes for the homeless, we are also a drop off location. The Let Someone Fill Your Shoes campaign is cosponsored by local area podiatrists and the Salvation Army. You may deposit new or lightly used, clean shoes in one of the large boxes located by the front doors of the school buildings during drop off or pick up times. Please feel free to take advantage of this opportunity to clean out the clutter of shoes no longer used by your family, while helping our students experience the reward of helping others. Shoes will be collected through Friday, January 31, 2020. Thank you in advance for your generosity and support.
News from the Peabody-Vauban Exchange Program

As you know we are partnering with two schools ( École Victor Hugo and Collège Vauban) in Belfort, France, which are part of an International Section from elementary school to high school. This spring, four grade 8 students are going there with Madame Frémy for a two-week immersion in a family and at school. Then just one week later ( April 18 to May 2) we will welcome twelve of our French friends and a teacher to chaperone them. They will attend school with their buddies and also visit other classes. They will be hosted by Peabody families. If you want to be part of this great experience, you are in luck, we still need two host families (one would be for one week) !!! These students are here to improve their English so you DO NOT NEED to speak French! Don’t hesitate to contact Madame Fremy if you have any question or interest. e

Proceeds from the Annual Fund enable Peabody to attract and retain top notch teachers, provide our students with the resources they need, keep our tuition affordable, and offer financial aid that meets demand. Thank you for being such strong supporters of Peabody School!
Peabody Book Swap is coming!

Have your children outgrown books from your home libraries? Please consider donating them to the upcoming book swap that will be paired with Game Night (3/6). We will return to our treasured Bookworm Central book fair next year when we have a fabulous new library, but until then we want to make sure our readers have access to lots of new material!

We are accepting children's books in good condition that are appropriate for our PreK-8 students. Drop them off in the office to the attention of Ms. MaryBeth or Mrs. Funk and thank you for supporting Peabody's voracious readers!
Support the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank

Did you know that in our community there are 131,800 people who don’t know where or when their next meal will be, and that 1 in 8 children in our area suffer from hunger? Ms. Wynn’s Middle School Hunger Elective (Ronak, Ellena, Lila, Miles, Sahalia, Kes) is taking the extra step to create a food drive and fundraiser for the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank. The Blue Ridge Area Food Bank, BRAFB, serves an average of 106,000 people every month. From January 6 - 24, you will have the chance to help them and community by donating baby products such as diapers and baby food, and money. Every $1 you donate provides 4 whole meals for hungry people. Canned food donations and non-perishable food items are also greatly appreciated. Here is a list of the Food Bank’s “Most Needed Items”. Thank you!
