April 2018
Virginia Lassiter Leadership Luncheon

The 2nd Annual Virginia Lassiter Leadership Luncheon begins at 12:30 p.m., Saturday, April 14 at the Episcopal Church Parrish Hall, 221 S. 4th Street, Lake Wales.

This luncheon honors the late Virginia Lassiter's lifelong dedication to the Lake Wales Public Library.  As one of the founders of the Lake Wales Library Association in 1954, Jita spearheaded the effort to provide publicly funded library services to residents of Lake Wales.

The 2018 Virginia Lassiter Leadership Luncheon will feature a panel discussion with three local leaders in Lake Wales' agri-business field, Ellis Hunt, Jr., Cary Lightsey and Emil Jahna, Jr.  The three Lake Waleans will discuss the history and economic impact of their businesses on our city.   Polk County's Historic Preservation Manager, Myrtice Young will serve as moderator for the program.

Tickets are $25 per person and are available at the Lake Wales Public Library.  All proceeds from this luncheon will benefit the Lake Wales Library Association - Friends of the Library.  For information call 678-4005.
