From your Principal...
Dear STM Families,

I hope everyone had a Blessed Easter weekend.

As you may have heard from your children, we had a warm day in our buildings. One of the compressors for our HVAC system broke down. The facilities manager has already procured a new engine and is looking for a compressor. If one is found tonight, it will be repaired for tomorrow morning. If not, one will be found first thing in the morning and installed ASAP. I will send an update as soon as possible.

Recently your family should have received information regarding the Circle of Grace program that the Archdiocese of Galveston/Houston asked all schools to implement.

Circle of Grace  is the approved safe environment training program for elementary students enrolled in any religious education in the Archdiocese. The goal of the Circle of Grace program is to educate and empower children and young people to actively participate in a safe environment for themselves and others.

Circle of Grace  is the love and goodness of God that surrounds us and all others. It is the recognition that God is with us always and is there to help us in difficult situations. Through the Circle of Grace Program, adults assist children and youth to recognize God's love by understanding that each of us lives and moves within a Circle of Grace.

The Circle of Grace  program teachers children and young people to seek help, when needed, from a trusted adult, reinforcing God's presence in their real life struggles.

If you have any questions regarding this program, please feel free to reach out to your child's religion teacher.

Report Cards will be emailed this Friday to all families in good financial standing with the school.

Yours in Christ,

Kristen Thome
Principal
School Safety...
STM Ad Hoc Committee on School Safety

The initial meeting of the Ad Hoc Committee on School Safety will be held on Wednesday, April 11th at 6:30 PM in the STM School Library. This committee will be reviewing research and best practices, soliciting input from school, parish and community members and delivering a report to the Principal outlining recommendations for implementation and action.

All interested STM parents are welcome to participate. Membership on the committee is a 2 month commitment, with approximately 4-6 evening meetings. Please note that this is an "adults-only" meeting, child care will not be available. If you have further questions or would like to RSVP your attendance, please email Mary Gleason MSN, RN at [email protected].

Food Allergies...
Did you know that STM has a parent committee that works to provide a safe and inclusive campus for all students including those that have severe and life-threatening food allergies? Did you know that the FoodSafe guidelines that started on our campus have served as a model for several other Catholic Schools in our Archdiocese?

If you are interested in hearing what is new in the area of food allergy management, want to connect with other parents with similar concerns, or want to work to improve our campus response to health issues like food allergies, please plan to attend the annual meeting of the Parent Advisory Committee on Food Allergies (PACA). The meeting will be held in the STM School Library on Wednesday, April 11th at 5:30PM. To RSVP or for more information, please contact Mary Gleason MSN, RN at [email protected].
