QUEEN ELIZABETH II HOSPITAL AUXILIARY ASSOCIATION

Since 1922, the QEII Hospital Auxiliary (originally known as the Hospital Ladies Auxiliary) has supported patient care at all of the Grande Prairie hospitals. In 2022, we will be celebrating our 100th anniversary!

We are a group of dedicated men and women who work together to raise funds for the Queen Elizabeth II Hospital. We have contributed over $1 million dollars to the Hospital in the past ten years and over $2 million dollars within the last twenty years. The QEII uses these funds to purchase equipment or fund programs that the Government of Alberta cannot or will not fund. All our money remains in the community helping local and surrounding area residents from neonatal right up to end of life.

We host monthly dinner meetings every fourth Tuesday at the Forbes Church at 5:00pm. Our meals are catered and reasonably priced ($10). We have interesting guest speakers and we are usually ready to go home by 7:00pm. Most importantly, we have FUN! Come out and join us to see what we are about. We promise that we won't disappoint you. Contact us by phone at 780-538-2770 and our Gift Shop Manager will have someone from our Executive Committee call you to invite you to one of our regular dinner meetings.

Together we make a difference in the lives of the local and surrounding area patients, residents, and staff at our Queen Elizabeth II Hospital.  

HOW DO WE RAISE OUR FUNDS?

We own and operate a Gift Shop at the Queen Elizabeth II Hospital on the main floor.

We work with the Grande Prairie Rotary Clubs selling tickets for the annual Dream Home Lottery, Cars for Christmas, and any other projects in which they would like to include us.

We host casinos and bingo's. We also sell pull tickets and lottery tickets at our Gift Shop.

We staff the Cookie House (Mrs. Claus's Kitchen) at the Festival of Trees.

EXAMPLES OF WHAT WE PURCHASE WITH THE FUNDS THAT WE RAISE

Stryker Stretchers, billi beds, and electric beds.

Walkers, wheelchairs, patient lifts, sofas, chairs and TVs.

Theracare Mattresses, portable ventilators, examination tables, and medicine cabinets.

We fund patient care kits for the hospital emergency department, bake cookies for cancer patients, and provide meals for cancer patients.

We purchase STARS AIR AMBULANCE flights on behalf of the Queen Elizabeth II Hospital.

We provide bursaries to nursing students at the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital.

ONE LOUDER GOES THE ART AUCTION 38
SATURDAY, APRIL 28, 2018

Each year since 1980, the Art Gallery of Grande Prairie has held an annual art auction to raise funds for its core operations and programming. This gala, supported by artists, businesses and the local community, is a celebration of the transformative power of the Arts, and acknowledges the important placement of the Gallery in our community.

All proceeds support the Gallery's exhibitions and programs for the year, one of the premiere Free Admission Galleries in Western Canada.
