2018 Tauber International Spring Break Trek
Tauber bloggers:
Autostadt & Butterflies

Tauber 1 student Ziyan Xu's favorite part of the Tauber International Spring Break Trek to Germany was the famed Autostadt (Auto City): "We were amazed by the interplay between human and machine, breathing in the automotive history whilst experiencing state-of-the-art production at the Wolfsburg factory, where the legendary Beetle was once produced.... For someone like me who wants to work in the automotive manufacturing industry, this tour makes you rethink the challenges and complexity of building and managing an auto production plant."

Tauber 2 student Maaz Khalid reflects: "It was not too long ago I was writing my last blog entry in the midst of my Tauber project at PepsiCo in New York. I was a young and innocent Tauber 1 back then but now, much like a butterfly coming out of its cocoon, find myself a Tauber 2 on the verge of graduating in less than a month.... that won't be the last butterfly reference in this blog. Consider yourself warned."

Tauber Team Microsoft Incentives - Eva Xia (MBA), Mira Sun (EGL BSE/MSE- IOE), & Rob Todd (MBA) - at the 2016 Kickoff Dinner
Tauber Solutions:
Reimagining Microsoft's
Incentive Program

The Problem: As Microsoft transitions from on-premises to cloud solutions, thus increasing the incentive landscape complexity, it becomes more challenging to measure behaviors and provide timely and accurate accrual.

The Solution: The 2016 Tauber Microsoft Incentives team focused on the Online Service Usage and Advisor Sell incentive programs while considering other online programs including Azure, Cloud Service Providers and Syndication for future expansion. The team interviewed stakeholders in the end-to-end accrual process and mapped out the full end-to-end process while identifying several common challenges faced by all team members, and hosted a Kaizen event to brainstorm opportunities and prioritize the implementation of solutions. The team anticipated implementing two platforms they developed will result in over $310k per year in labor savings by eliminating manual process steps and rework, and estimated an additional $35M savings per year in forecast accuracy improvements.
