Greeting to Those Who Love Lake Beauty!
Opportunity to join God in His ministry at
Lake Beauty Bible Camp

We are inviting our licensed health care professionals a chance to come enjoy a week of camp!   If you are an RN, EMT, or licensed practitioner, we would love for you to help care for our campers.   In order for us to run a week of camp we must have a licensed health care professional available throughout the week of camp.   To give you yet another reason to considering joining God in His ministry at Lake Beauty, we are able to offer you one free week of camp for a camper of your choice as a thank you for volunteering your time with us this summer!

Special Announcement from Brian Alnes

I never imagined that when the board and I decided to begin dreaming about the future of Lake Beauty Ministries, including my position as Executive Director at Lake Beauty Ministries that it would mean traveling to the Middle East (Jordan Specifically) and become a part of starting a new Bible Camp in the land. That is however what looks like might start to happen.

Last Summer at the Covenant Annual Meeting in Detroit, I was asked if I would stay an extra week after the Solid Rock Israel trip (January 2018) and head to Jordan to meet with the Bible Society of Jordan who had been in conversations with the Covenant Church about help in starting a Bible Camp.

Middle East and Northern Africa (MENA) is a new missions area for the ECC. It was started just over a year ago. Since then, there have been several missionaries who have been in the country and working to build relationships. A relationship was built with BSoJ and it has continued to grow. NancyJo Hoover who has been a career missionary in the Covenant for many years and I spent a week with the staff at BSoJ. Their passion to share Jesus with the people of Jordan and with the Syrian refugees is infectious. We traveled around looking at properties, all the while talking about life in Jordan.

There are lots of questions and details to figure out. We are partnering, but not underwriting anything on this. There has been no expense on our part at this point. MENA and some donors outside of LBBC have committed monies to assist in getting some of the staff here for this Summer. We are planning to have several of the Staff from BSoJ available at camp for Staff Training and then the first two weeks of camp to see what we do. Culture and Context may be different between the two countries, however the things that we do with people to meet needs is the same anywhere we go.

A Word From Covenant Trust

Now that the 2017 tax season is over, you may already be thinking about how you can lower the taxes you owe in 2018. If you have a Traditional IRA and want to give charitably, a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) can be an effective way to not only lower your taxable income but also make an impactful gift to your favorite charities.

A Qualified Charitable Distribution allows individual taxpayers older than 70 ½ years to donate up to $100,000 from their Traditional IRA to eligible charities. This includes Lake Beauty Bible Camp and other ministries of the Evangelical Covenant Church. Because the donation goes straight from the IRA to the charity, the distributions are not considered taxable income. Additionally, if you must take a Required Minimum Distribution (RMD), you can use a Qualified Charitable Distribution to meet your RMD requirement. Thus, by transferring part or all of your RMD to an eligible charity, you can effectively reduce your taxable income and support your favorite ministries.

The many benefits of Qualified Charitable Distributions can help you support your favorite ministries beyond what you may have thought was possible. For more information, contact your local Financial Services Representatives, listed below, who can tell you more about Qualified Charitable Distributions and other charitable giving strategies that can help you achieve your charitable goals.
