PVIT FRC
Congratulations to the PVIT First Robotics (FRC) team for their best competition ever in Las Vegas last weekend. The team held 2nd Place for much of the qualifying matches, and finished a strong 5th place going into the playoffs. In an alliance with an private Palos Verdes team, the team lost 2-1 in the semi-finals, but won the tournament's Xerox Creativity Award for their innovative design. The team has really reached a new level of competitiveness in FRC and are already making plans for a stronger performance next year.

ENGINEERING
The engineering TSA TEAMS competition took place at PV High for the first time this year. Although PV has had a team in the past compete at other locations, Youngeun Eric Kim formed a team consisting of Austin Nash, Makayla Dixon, Brent Usui, Angelina Norris, and himself to bring this competition to our campus. This engineering contest consists of an essay, a math and physics-oriented multiple choice exam, and a design challenge, all based on an environmental topic. Look for this competition next year when PV plans to grow this program to include more students with multiple teams.
