National Child Abuse Prevention Month
Each of us can help make great childhoods happen. You can show your solidarity against child abuse on Friday, April 6, by wearing blue. Share your pictures on Facebook and Twitter with the hashtag #WearBlueDayNH. Then join us at 3 p.m. at TLC to 'plant' awareness by placing blue pinwheels in the bushes around our building and learn more about how TLC works every day to help prevent child abuse. We'll also have blue cupcakes and juice, and one lucky person will go home with "The Complete Tales & Poems of Winnie-the-Pooh" by A. A. Milne.
On the Move
TLC is On the Move and you're invited to join us! Starting today, April 2, we're encouraging everyone in Sullivan and Lower Grafton counties to be On the Move and active.  You can read more about how you can be involved  here . 
 
The On the Move page will have links to our new Facebook group, how to access the app Every Move, links to placed to be active, and much more. You can share your pictures on Twitter and Facebook with the hashtag #TLCOntheMove. We'll be sharing blog posts with ways to be active, how to get started with a new activity like running or biking, safety tips, nutritious and affordable snacks and meals, and much more!
Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours
Lake Sunapee Region VNA and Hospice and TLC Family Resource Center are teaming up to sponsor the April 5th Business After Hours for the Greater Claremont Chamber of Commerce. NH Child Support Community Forum
Do you pay or receive child support? We want to hear from you at the NH Child Support Community Forum on Wednesday, April 4, from 6 to 8 p.m. If you received a child support order after 2013, please come and share your experience at the NH Child Support Community Forum and help us improve New Hampshire's child support system. Sponsored by the University of New Hampshire. If you cannot attend the forum, please send your written testimony to [email protected]. Peer Recovery Support Groups and Recovery Coaching
TLC Family Resource Center recently became the fiscal sponsor for the Community Recovery Resource Center. Wayne Miller will continue in his role as manager of the program. He will be working with Jeremy Hartsell, an AmeriCorps member. While the program is in transition, some services will continue.

Topic Discussion Peer Support Groups are held every Tuesday to Friday, from 1 to 2 p.m. Walk-in Recovery Coaching is available every Tuesday to Friday, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Both are held at 169 Main St. in Claremont (the former home of HOPE for NH Recovery). TLC Children's Thrift Store is temporarily closed
The Children's Thrift Store is temporarily closed to prepare for moving to a new location in June. Please save your donations and call us in early June to find out when we will be accepting donations again. Thank you for your support and understanding during this transition period!
Diversity Reading series continues
On Thursday, April 5, at 3:30 p.m., join us for a reading of "The Girl Who Thought in Pictures: The Story of Dr. Temple Grandin (Amazing Scientists)" by Julia Finley Mosca, the next book in the Understanding Diversity and Inclusion through Children's Literature series. The event will be held at Maple Avenue School, located at 210 Maple Ave. in Claremont, and will be free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served. Open house to learn about our programs
On Wednesday, April 25, st op by our offices for a free open house to learn more about our programs and services from 2 to 3 p.m.  This is a free event and is open to the public.
Student art showcase, The Laramie Project
The showcase of student artwork is ongoing through Friday, April 27, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., at Amplified Arts, 31 Pleasant St., Claremont. Rural Outright, a program of TLC, has gathered artwork from students in K-12 centered around the theme of #KindnessInAction.

The showcase concludes on the Day of Silence, a student-led national event where folks take a vow of silence to draw attention to the silence and erasure of LGBTQ people at school, and the opening performance of The Laramie Project, at 7 p.m. The play will also be performed on Saturday, April 28, at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.
