"April showers bring May flowers" is what my dear late aunt Rosalind Moore-Beckham used to say when we as kids would complain about the April rains. We complained because due to the rain we couldn't go to Keney Park to play on the swings and have our weekly Spring/Summer picnics there. I have found that sometimes we as adults still display behaviors such as anger, complaining, stubbornness etc. when we cannot have our own way.

Tolls: Fact vs. Fiction

If you drive up or down the east coast you pay tolls - except in Connecticut. The revenues fund critical transportation infrastructure repairs and improvements, and our state's highways are in dire need of work.
Today's tolls are not the dangerous, traffic-jamming devices of the past. And funds collected through tolls must be spent on transportation related expenses. Plus, out of state Drivers help foot the bill.
West Middle Community Students Walk Out on Gun Violence
Students left class at 10:00 am local time for 17 minutes - one minute for each victim in the February 14 attack at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland. 8th grade students stood in a circle outside the front of West Middle Community School on March 14th. They waited silently while the name of each student that lost their life was read aloud.
South Marshall Street has been the focus of volunteer efforts for many years now for a group of members of Immanuel Congregational Church. This is far from the only volunteering that ICC does, but has been the consistent focus for a core group for a very long time.

Owl Enrichment Students Support Nationwide Walk Out
On Wednesday March 14, 2018, students at Hartford Public High School participated in the national walk out in honor of the seventeen lives lost in Parkland Florida last month.
On the Monday before Easter, The Riverfront Family Church that worships Sunday mornings at The 224 EcoSpace, hosted a Community Dinner and invited friends and neighbors to come and share a meal.
