MassHousing Completes First Sustainability Bond Transaction
MassHousing recently issued $108 million in affordable multifamily Housing Bonds with a Sustainability Bond designation, marking the first time the Agency has issued Sustainability Bonds. The designated Sustainability Bonds, which will finance the preservation and rehabilitation of affordable multifamily communities in Boston and Cambridge, will help MassHousing reach mission-driven institutional and retail investors.

571 Revere Street, Revere
$7.9 million in financing to The Neighborhood Developers (TND) will support the construction of 51 units of new affordable housing, including 19 workforce units. Read more...

$4.1 million in financing to TLee Development LLC, will support the construction of 14 energy-efficient apartments on a vacant parcel at 191 Talbot Ave., in Boston’s Dorchester neighborhood. Matheson Apartments, Worcester
$11.8 million in financing to the non-profit Homeowners Rehab, Inc., will support renovations to the 70-unit Matheson Apartments in downtown Worcester, where the owner will also renew expiring federal housing subsidies. Read more...

Whitney Carriage Park, Leominster
$15 million in financing to an affiliate of Farragut Investments Inc., will help to make substantial property improvements at the 181-unit Whitney Carriage Park apartments in Leominster. The 45 affordable units will be preserved in perpetuity. Read more...
Eleven Nonprofits Awarded Sober Housing Funds
MassHousing's Center for Community Recovery Innovations, Inc. (CCRI) has awarded $622,095 in grant funding to help create or modernize 152 affordable sober housing units in 11 communities across Massachusetts. The housing is for men and women in recovery, including veterans and women with children. To date, CCRI has awarded more than $11 million in grants to build or preserve nearly 2,300 units of substance-free housing in 53 communities.  Read more...
Trade Fair Connects Diverse Businesses with Opportunity
Approximately 90 people attended MassHousing's Western Massachusetts Business Engagement and Inclusion Trade Fair, December 12 in West Springfield. This included 22 diverse business owners who showcased their goods and services to management company personnel representing the 40 MassHousing-financed multifamily developments in western Massachusetts.
