Art in State Buildings: Call to Artists
Artists interested in creating public art take note! RFQs are invited from Vermont artists or artist teams interested in the design, fabrication, and installation of a permanent work of public art at the Vermont Agriculture and Environmental Lab in Randolph Center.
The project team envisions an artwork that reflects the goal of the new facility: to ensure that Vermont is a safe place to live, work, and visit. Areas at the site especially suitable for public art include exterior entrances, terraces, grounds, functional elements like sculptural benches or bike racks, and interior public lobbies.
This project is part of Vermont's Art in State Buildings Program administered by the Vermont Arts Council in partnership with the Department of Buildings and General Services. The program is dedicated to enhancing working environments by improving the character and quality of state-owned buildings and public spaces.

The Sensory Friendly Workshop and Performance will focus on strategies for helping people with autism feel comfortable and more able to engage with creative activities or performances. A panel will lead discussions about how sensory-friendly experiences look and feel.
The workshop will be followed by a performance of "Shh ... We Have a Plan," which uses a sensory-friendly format to present a nonverbal tale featuring live performers, state-of-the-art puppetry, and delightfully offbeat music.

The Vermont Arts Council is funded, in part, by a grant from the
National Endowment for the Arts
, which requires a 1:1 match from the Vermont State Legislature. Council grants, programs, and statewide arts promotion would not be possible without the critical funding provided by these government agencies.
