Why think about Christmas when temperatures are still climbing, and the holiday season is months away? Because we are officially past the midpoint of the year, meaning there are fewer and fewer days until the holiday season is here! 
 
If you're thinking of great new spaces in your home for the holidays don't wait and get caught off guard with mounting lead times. Great design takes time and the last thing you want to do is rush your investment.

Why Start Now? 

  1. The design process can take anywhere from 3 to 8 weeks.  Even longer on larger projects.  It's best not to rush this phase. 
  2. Lead times on items to be purchased range anywhere from 3 to 12 weeks.  This can run even longer if manufacturers are waiting on back ordered items to complete your project.
  3. Trades like painters, wallpaper hangers, electricians, plumbers, and more can't start until product is received. Remember, desirable installers have wait lists too.
  4. Leave time for final accessorizing of the space once large items are installed. This can take a few trips to find just the right pieces to highlight your living space.
It's really not too early to start thinking about the holidays.  A well thought-out plan will go a long way in your holiday prep, making the season less stressful and more joyful!

NeoCon is held every June at our very own Merchandise Mart. This three day activity-packed expo is a commercial design favorite and always well-attended. Early key note speakers followed by the latest products in the commercial design industry from ergonomic seating (and standing) to textured sound barriers and partitions, to incredible fabrics are showcased. All aspects of the expo are highly creative and evokes a great deal of creative thinking.  
 
Commercial design is so different from residential, and to mix the two is amazing!
