Lee Clerk launches new services, receives national awards in 2019
 
During 2019, the Clerk's office set new standards of excellence. Our office secured national awards for its financial reports and passports program. The Clerk's Inspector General was also instrumental in uncovering a $700,000 fraud scheme at the Port Authority. 

Last year, we launched Property Fraud Alert to help alert homeowners of potential property and mortgage fraud. Our new online marriage application also helped thousands apply for their license and start their lives together. Watch the full video to see all of our most notable achievements.

If you're planning on tying the knot on Feb. 14, now is the time to make a ceremony reservation. Ceremonies are being held at the Fort Myers, Cape Coral, and Bonita Springs offices.  Clerk Doggett will officiate several of the weddings taking place at the Fort Myers office, which features a matrimonial room.

Prior to reserving your appointment, you must purchase a marriage license for $86 and a ceremony for $30 by Feb. 11. Florida residents may waive the mandatory three-day waiting period by completing a premarital course by a registered provider . Once complete, couples are also eligible for a $25 discount on their marriage license.

Lee Clerk of Courts marks 34 years of financial excellence
 
For the 34th consecutive year, the Lee Clerk's office has earned national recognition for its financial responsibility to citizens.
 
The Clerk's office received the prestigious Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for its Comprehensive Annual Financial Report. The award was given by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada, the foremost organization on public finance excellence.
