Happy Holidays
Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah and a Happy New Year from the DWIH New York.

With your families and friends in Germany, the U.S. and across the world, you're celebrating the holiday season. Here at the close of 2019 we're celebrating a successful year. In 2019 we hosted 26 events on German science and research in the U.S. From New York to San Francisco and from panel discussions to pitching contests, we continue to promote Germany as a land of ideas and encourage collaboration and exchange with colleagues in the U.S.

In January 2019 we welcomed Director of the DWIH and DAAD New York Benedikt Brisch, and in October, our new Program Manager Dietrich Wolf Fenner. Which team member is the biggest Dolly Parton fan? Find that answer and more about each of us on our website  team page.

We're looking forward to an exciting 2020, and we hope to connect with you in the upcoming year. From our DWIH family to yours, happy holidays.

Event Highlights 2019

2019 Wrapped

How do you measure a year? How about in 16 photos? Check out what the DWIH New York has been up to in 2019 in our narrative photo gallery

Future Forum: Demystify A.I.

Over two days in Brooklyn we brought together 165 transatlantic experts and thinkers to Demystify A.I.

In our post-event survey, 92% of responders said they liked our speakers and content.  See what they're talking about in our Future Forum: Demystify A.I. video .

Alzheimer's, Related Disorders and Autophagy

Besides technology, the DWIH also places special focus on basic research. In this event with the University Medical Center in Mainz we hosted an expert workshop and public panel looking at causes of Alzheimer's and other neurodegenerative diseases.

Transatlantic Dialogue on Data-driven Innovation

When a delegation of academics and industry professionals from the German state of Hessen came to visit NYC in October, we collaborated with the German Chamber of Commerce to let the delegation explore data-driven innovation.

A Peak at 2020

Introducing "City and Climate"

Just like in 2019 when we paid special attention to artificial intelligence, our 2020 theme will be "City and Climate". We'll be investigating environmental concerns related to people and communities such as energy, sustainability, smart cities and more. You can look forward to our Future Forum on cities and climate in fall 2020 in Chicago.

We're planning a slate of exciting events in 2020, but don't miss our first!
