The officers of the children of Israel saw them in distress, saying, "Do not reduce [the number] of your bricks, the requirement of each day in its day."They met Moses and Aaron standing before them when they came out from Pharaoh's presence. And they said to them, "May the Lord look upon you and judge, for you have brought us into foul odor in the eyes of Pharaoh and in the eyes of his servants, to place a sword into their hand[s] to kill us." So Moses returned to the Lord and said, "O Lord! Why have You harmed this people? Why have You sent me? Since I have come to Pharaoh to speak in Your name, he has harmed this people, and You have not saved Your people."

From the desk of our
S.T.E.A.M. Lab
Our STEAM students are fully immersed in simple machines and innovation. We have been using ramps and pendulums to paint with, pendulums in our sand bin, pulleys, screws, and more! Our ECE3 and ECE4 students also learned all about kinetic vs. potential energy, then tested out the two types of energy by making helicopters out of straws and paper. They then applied this new knowledge when using the pendulum to paint. ECE3 through 2nd grade is learning about great innovators as well. Our lower school students are being given a chance to apply everything we've been learning in class by inventing their own simple machines out of materials they may find laying around the house or left over from their lunches. We look forward to sharing what our students come up with!

Rodeo Gold
We are so excited about 4th grader Ami Kellerman's Rodeo Houston School Art Competition Gold Medal win! This is the first time that a student from RMBA received the prestigious award that only 8 students throughout Houston's private schools receive. Congratulations to the following students for receiving the competition's Award of Excellence (from youngest to oldest): Liam Levenstein, Judah Goldstein, Ben Ackerman, Yehonatan Gilad, Eitan Gottlieb, Odia Shitrit, Samuel Pickelner, Shana Nathan, and Ari Rosenzweig.

Marshmallow Slingshots
While learning about the relationship between force and acceleration in science class, 8th grade made balloon slingshots and used varying amounts of force to shoot marshmallows across the lobby. They calculated the acceleration of each marshmallow and saw that the more force applied, the faster the marshmallow accelerated.

Mystery Reader
Kindergarten's mystery reader program is going strong. This past Friday the class enjoyed a story with Eyal Shavitzky, who was joined by his parents who were visiting from Israel.

Human Bingo
Students in Ori Friedmann's 7th and 8th grade Hebrew class enjoyed playing a human bingo game. In order to replace the bingo card the students needed to identify the corresponding Hebrew word.
|

|
|
The Amazing Race
Students in Gveret Chen and Ori Friedmann's classes enjoyed a joint lesson hosted by Yehudit Elkobi, who participated in the final season of the hit Israeli reality TV show The Amazing Race
(המירוץ למיליון).
Yehudit talked about goals, parent-child relationships, and life victories.

Stone Soup
Kindergarten students
in Mrs. Blumberg's class had great fun reading 3 different versions of the story Stone Soup. The book teaches how sharing and caring bring forth happiness to all. They also discussed what would happen to the stones and discovered that they remain the same. The students helped peel and slice the mounds of vegetables they brought to share and made their very own stone soup.

Sensory Fun
Students in Morah Alissa's ECE3 class had lots of fun practicing writing their names in shaving cream. The sensory activity was such a great way to familiarize themselves with letters.

A Winter Blast
As part of ECE4's Winter unit, the students in Morah Aviva's class had lots of fun making a cooperative puffy snowman, getting elbow deep in shaving cream and glue. They also had a great time dressing up in winter gear in the Dramatic Play Center.

Winter Pyramid
Morah Miriam's 4th grade Hebrew class enjoyed a friendly competition while working on grammar and writing skills. The class was divided into groups, and the group that created the biggest pyramid by writing sentences on the topic of "winter" won the game.
|

|

Numbers Everywhere!
Students in Morah Esther's ECE2 class had such fun scooping many different numbers on the floor and then finding their cubby number and matching it to their chair number.

|
Chumash Celebration
In celebration of beginning to learn
chumash with their newly learned skills, 2nd grade students received their very own
chumashim from RMBA to begin building their own libraries.

Athletic Award Dinner
The Athletic Award Dinner will take place on Monday, March 30, 2020 at 6:00 PM in the ulam.
Middle School Girls Basketball
The MS Girls will finish up their season this Thursday when the girls host Logos Prep at 4:30.
Middle School Boys Basketball
The 5th/6th grade boys will play their next game at home
on Thursday vs. Logos Prep. The game will be at 5:30.
High S
chool Girls Basketball
The HS Girls will play Bellville Faith in Bellville on Thursday at 5:30. They will also be hosting Bellville Faith on Monday January 20th. .
High School Boys Basketball
The HS Boys will travel to Covenant Academy on Thursday and look to build on their 3-0 district record.
