BROOKLYN BAR ASSOCIATION VOLUNTEER LAWYERS PROJECT
A VLP CLIENT SPOTLIGHT:
Last month, Brenda graced the stage at the VLP's Annual  Gala, courageously sharing her story with over 200 guests and supporters.   Like many of our clients, Brenda faced a complex and prolonged legal battle on her own - struggling to succeed.  Addressing the audience, Brenda asked:

"Can you believe - you are looking at a woman that had lost all hope of saving my home of 19 years? Losing the only home my 6 year old granddaughter Bella has ever known would have been devastating.  Giving her a stable foundation was and remains my number one objective."

Brenda came to the VLP for help and we gave her hope and a new beginning.
Thanks to our foreclosure prevention program, Brenda and Bella were able to remain in their home , with an affordable mortgage and renewed sense of pride in home ownership.   Please view Brenda's full remarks below:

MAKE AN IMPACT WITH THE VLP

GIVE TIME & EXPERTISE:
Since 1990, the VLP has worked to make the legal system accessible to low-income Brooklyn residents through the pro bono involvement of the private bar.  We continue to need  volunteer attorneys to represent clients in several types of cases.  Hone your skills, gain legal experience, earn CLE credits, all while making a difference in the lives of those in need.  From law students to experienced attorneys, and solo practitioners to big law and in-house counsel, the VLP has rewarding pro bono opportunities for you!

MAKE A GIFT:
The VLP's programs are based on the essential legal needs in our community to help clients, like Brenda, regain control and have their voices heard.  But we cannot do it alone. Please support our continued efforts to provide all residents of Brooklyn with equal access to justice by making a contribution today.
