Huntsville Assistance Program
The Social Justice Committee has a goal to collect at least
100 items each month for the food pantry.
Please put your nonperishable food items or personal care products donations in the basket in the church foyer for the Huntsville Assistance Program.
Please, no canned corn, beans, or peas! They are currently overloaded with those items.
Sponsored by the Social Justice Committee

UUCH's Free Food Pantry is installed in the parking lot and is now stocked. The Social Justice Committee will restock the pantry with non-perishables, as needed, and you can, too.
See the Social Justice Committee for more information on what items are in need.

This Sunday in Children and Youth Religious Education (CYRE)
The RE children and youth are excited to bring you their next Outreach Action Project. It's been brought to our attention that our Little Food Pantry is getting lots of use. We are glad it is providing help to those who need it. However, additional items have been requested. Thus, the RE program will be hosting a drive through March 29 to collect the following items (only new items please):
- Warm socks (men's/women's all sizes)
- Underwear (men's/women's all sizes)
- Toiletries (travel size shampoo/conditioner, soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes)
- Menstrual products (pads, tampons)
- Cough drops
- Can openers (manual, small)
We will begin collecting items after January 19. There will be a box in the Fellowship Hall and in the Sanctuary Foyer.
CYRE registration is open!
All families, new and returning, should register each year.

New Photo Directories Have Arrived!
If your picture was included in the recent UUCH photo directory, your free directory copy is available to pick up in the Fellowship Hall. Each directory has a last name on a label on the back cover, so make sure to pick up only your assigned directory. These photo directories serve as a great tool to connect our congregation, helping us remember names and faces, and providing current contact information.
Special thanks go to Mitzi Woody for efficiently managing this entire project from start to finish! Her unflappable attitude and attention to detail made her a joy to work with. Thanks also to the many volunteers coordinated by Mitzi to help with the photo sessions and other aspects of the directory.
And thanks to Lifetouch Photography for providing this free directory service.
Please proof your contact information in back of the new directory, and email the church office if there are changes or updates that need to be made.
With deep appreciation to Mitzi and everyone involved,
Pam Korb 2019-20 Membership Chair

Dear Members and Friends,
I have become aware of an uptick in scams circulating among UU congregations throughout the country regarding requests for money from the minister. If you receive such a request, please notify the church immediately. I do not, and have not, made such appeals. Please be on alert, and inform us of any suspicious activity you might encounter via e-mail from me, the church, or any representative of the church.

Update from the Ministerial Search Committee
The Ministerial Search Committee (MSC) had a very busy week conducting video interviews with the candidates who we believe might match the interests of our congregation. After reviewing the candidates' records, the video interviews provided us the opportunity to see them directly respond to questions about their abilities in the areas of leadership, pastoral care, social justice, internal church community, and personal goals. We are pleased to tell you that we have some strong candidates that potentially would be inspiring ministers and good matches for UUCH.
Next the Committee will be discussing all the information we have gained and evaluating which of the candidates we will bring in for pre-candidating interviews in February and March. Please
contact us if you have any questions.

The Pelvic Floor:
Health and Awareness
Class
The pelvic floor is a part of your body you may not give a lot of thought to until you experience a problem related to it, such as incontinence or lower back pain.
The pelvic floor is involved in many basic life functions as varied as digestion, elimination, reproduction, breathing, and balance. A healthy functioning pelvic floor promotes greater health in all of these areas. The pelvic floor musculature works in a coordinated system of muscles to support the hips and lower back.
Join us for a Saturday morning class focused on improving the health of your pelvic floor. We will meet in the Adult RE Room for a four-week series, from 10-11 a.m. starting January 11.
You will receive the most benefit if you can come to all classes, but learning is never wasted if you can only make a few classes. For more information,
please contact Sally Locklear
via email
or phone (512-657-6169).
