PUBLIC INFORMATION SESSION: APPROACH TO SENIORS SERVICES
City of Edmonton

The City of Edmonton wants to ensure access to diverse and inclusive programs and services to support healthy aging for all Edmontonians. Lend your voice to this important conversation and help inform the future of senior services in Edmonton.

This public engagement will focus on an assessment of the current state of programs, services and activities; clarification on the City of Edmonton's role, and identification of future enhancements to supporting healthy aging.

APPLY FOR A PARTICIPACTION COMMUNITY BETTER CHALLENGE GRANT
ParticipACTION
Webinar: January 27, 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

To incentivize active communities, ParticipACTION has created a series of micro grants of up to $1000 per grant recipient. This webinar will tell you all you need to know about putting together a great application, what makes a strong application, and information about grant recipient expectations. Grant applications will be accepted between January 27 and February 28.

END-OF-LIFE INTERVENTIONS FOR PALLIATIVE INDIVIDUALS AND THEIR FAMILIES
University of Toronto Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work

This online workshop is a great learning opportunity for healthcare professionals. In this workshop, you will explore thoughts, beliefs, and assumptions about dying and death and gain an awareness of how assumptions impact how we work with people at end of life. To avoid disappointment, register by February 3. Note that this workshop will be offered only if there is sufficient enrolment.

This concert series allows people living with dementia and their caregivers to enjoy classic symphony music in a supportive environment. Community members are invited to join CapitalCare residents for the concerts and for programming afterward. The post-concert programming supports dementia-style interaction as well as caregiver support.

Volunteer/Work Opportunities for Seniors
WOMEN'S ADVOCACY VOICE OF EDMONTON COMMITTEE (WAVE)
City of Edmonton

WAVE is recruiting up to six positions to make recommendations to City Council about women's gender-based issues. Applicants should have a strong interest in issues that affect women, excellent analytical abilities, and the ability to commit to approximately 8 to 10 hours each month. Applicants are required to complete the online application and attach a current resume plus three written letters of reference.
