Sharing the Gospel in Myanmar

,

Every year, I have the opportunity to share the Gospel with all 250 incoming Liberal Arts Program (LAP) students at Myanmar Institute of Theology (MIT). Christians, Buddhists, Muslims, Hindus, and atheists hear about God's love for them, the Gospel, and God's calling on their lives. I tell my testimony about how God called me as a teenager to surrender my will to his and give my life to follow Jesus. Then, for two hours, I present the Core Messages (John 3:16-17; Ephesians 2:8-10), the Heart (love), and the Uniqueness and Power of the Christian faith (the cross and Holy Spirit).

The third hour is filled with some pretty significant questions from the students. There's a mixture of intensity and a lot of laughter. These final 30 minutes are the highlight of the whole evening. We always have such a good time together, and this year was no exception. The best part, though, is knowing and sensing that God was at work throughout the evening. Our prayer is that this special evening will point all these first-year students in the right spiritual direction for the next four years, and for the rest of their lives.

Thank you for your prayers and support of our ministries in Myanmar. Please pray that God will water the seeds planted during my lecture, "What's so Special about the Christian Faith?" for these college students at MIT. Pray, too, that God will continue to give me wisdom, inspiration, clarity, and power to effectively teach the seminary students in my two New Testament Theology sections and advanced level course for Master of Theology students on the Apostle Paul. I am preparing them for a lifetime of preaching, teaching, and ministry throughout Myanmar.

Most of our budget for the year must be raised in the month of December. If you have not made a contribution to support this Gospel and leadership development ministry recently, please consider doing so today. Thank you.

In Christ's service,

Rev. Timothy C. Geoffrion, Ph.D., D.D.
President and Teaching Minister
