Dear Colleagues:

We have been in a fund-raising mode since we launched our Building on Strong Foundations capital campaign last September for our new $95 M facility. This campaign has given us the opportunity to travel throughout Ohio and around the country as we share the good news with alumni and friends about the remarkable investment made by the State of Ohio, the university, and our supporters who are helping us build a state-of-the-art facility -- the new Postle Hall.

Although our travels have brought us all sorts of rewards, none is more invigorating than the pride we see on our graduates' faces when they learn about the amazing facility upgrades, teaching innovations, and technological advances that their new dental school will have. It is these experiences with alumni that let us know how much our college means to them, their families, and their patients. Our alums often share with me how grateful they are for the education they received in our college and all that our profession has brought to their lives.

Many of you have already made a gift to our building campaign, and for that I am truly grateful. Your generosity is leading the way, setting an example for others, and inspiring them to make an investment that is vital to the future of our college. You have shown Ohio's legislators, the university's senior leaders, and our corporate supporters that this project is important to you and our profession. Thank you for demonstrating such commitment and dedication to this unprecedented opportunity.

For those of you who are still contemplating a gift, I hope you will give as soon as you are able. To ensure the completion of our project, we must raise $25 M. The quicker we meet our fund-raising goal, the sooner we will accomplish all that we have planned. There are multiple ways to give, either through a cash gift or a pledge of support. If you would like to find out more about the options for giving, please contact our Senior Director of Development, Ted Backus, by calling 614-292-9307.

In addition to making your individual gift, I invite you to organize your classmates to make a "class gift." Or, if you practice with other Ohio State graduates, consider a group contribution that demonstrates to others that you and your practice partners support our college and its amazing future. Such giving encourages others to be generous, and it creates a healthy, competitive spirit among alumni groups who can combine their efforts to help us achieve our goal more quickly.

As I've said to the many alumni, friends, and supporters who've attended one of our events, "Every gift counts and gets us closer to the goal." We have more than 11,000 members of our alumni community, and we truly need every one of them to be part of this unprecedented time in the history of our college. What a perfect way to express your gratitude, help students be the best they can be, and ensure your legacy! With your gift, our college can realize a future that will make us all so very proud.
