spacesTransform Our Spaces Fund

The Dean has launched a one-million dollar fund to provide financial assistance to initiate renovations to create accessible and inspiring facilities and infrastructure to catalyze learning, discovery, collaboration and community. 

Funding is awarded on a competitive basis and priority is given to submissions demonstrating strong alignment with the Faculty's strategic priorities of Strengthening our Research Prominence, Enriching the Student Experience, and Supporting our People.

The deadline for applications is March 1, 2020 . The fund is open to anyone who wants to submit an idea to transform our spaces.

Principal Patrick Deane will hold his next conversation with the Queen's community at Duncan McArthur Hall on Tuesday, January 14 at 4:30 p.m
You are invited to participate and share this information with your colleagues and students. 

The conversation is an open-ended discussion about Queen's, its future and the issues it faces. Everyone is welcome and light refreshments and snacks will be available.

Student Affairs  is currently accepting nominations for the EDI Impact Award , Brian Yealland Community Leadership Award and the   Peer Leadership Award . The deadline for all is February 3, 2020 and these awards are presented and celebrated at their annual Student Recognition Reception on March 9, 2020.

Student Affairs wants to recognize students who are committed to equity, diversity and inclusivity (EDI) and are making an impact on our campus. Nominate them now for the EDI Impact Award!

This is an open invitation to everyone in the Queen's and broader community to join us for a series of talks associated with Global Development Studies' Principal's Dream Course on Indigenous Human Ecology in the winter term of 2020.
 
The  conversational talks  will feature Global Development Studies Instructor Ian Fanning (Algonquin) speaking with invited guests on topics that explore Indigenous solidarity in various forms, why we need it at Queen's and in the wider community, and how we can support Indigenous resistance and resurgence.

Please plan to work with your DSC's about what they are planning for your tabletop displays - this is when your blue board displays can be updated and used along with other interesting artifacts. We will bring some of the Major Maps for you to hand out at the event.

If you are hosting your own info sessions after Major's Night, let us know and we'll be sure to include them in our student newsletters and on our website.
cleanBuilding Cleaning Schedule (Reminder)

One of the priorities of the Faculty of Arts and Science Strategic Plan is the transformation of the spaces that we use. Improving the cleanliness of our buildings and spaces is a key part of that priority.

Please see below for the schedule of building cleaning, which will include detailed cleaning in the entrances, hallways, stairwells and washrooms.

postdocPost-Doctoral Fund Applications (Reminder)

Applications are now being accepted for the Queen's Research Opportunities  Post-Doctoral Fund

The Post-Doctoral Fund is intended to attract outstanding Post-Doctoral Fellows to Queen's University each year. Funding is intended to provide one year of salary support for up to three Post-Doctoral Fellows who have indicated their intention to hold the post-doctoral fellowship at Queen's University.

You can access the  Application Form, and the deadline for application is January 20, 2020. The  TRAQ DSS instructions are also available.
