"None of us can think we are exempt from concern for the poor and for social justice."  Pope Francis

Prayer for World Day of Justice

Creator God,
All around us, we can plainly see
The injustices that plague our world.
Help us envision a more just world,
One that is possible, a world You call us to.
We can see the poverty
That diminishes life in so many ways.
Help us envision the human flourishing
That is the affirmation of your gift of life.
We can see the intolerance
That wounds our communities.
Help us envision the solidarity
That binds us together as one human family.

We can see the violence
That destroys so many people and places.
Help us envision the peace
That your Son calls us to.
We can see the environmental destruction
That is is growing daily in our world
Help us envision a green and growing garden
That shows forth the goodness of Creation,
Open our eyes, so we may see
How we have failed to follow your call;
Open our hearts, so we may envision
The world as you intended,
A world we are called to co-create
In justice and peace. Amen.

Catholic Campaign for Human Development Grants
Helps Local Community Endeavor

The Farmory, located at 815 Chicago Street in Green Bay has been the recipient of CCHD grants in their efforts to  model sustainable ways of growing, eating and living to those around us through education and outreach.

The Farmory uses a combination of aquaculture (the raising of fish) and hydroponics (the soil-less growing of plants) in an ancient method of growing food called "aquaponics." Simply put, water from the fish tanks fertilizes the plants. The plants soak up the fish-processed nutrients, filtering the water that returns to the fish in a renewable, sustainable cycle. Currently, The Farmory is growing leafy greens and microgreens.
