CATHOLIC SCHOOLS WEEK 2020,
impacting lives through a Notre Dame education

Since 1924, many Sisters of Notre Dame have devoted themselves to their Catholic school students.  From Notre Dame Learning Center Preschool to St. John's Seminary, from California to Buseesa, Uganda, California SNDs today continue to share our educational heritage.

These SND educational principles permeate the schools and have a lasting impact on the students:
  • The centrality of a good and provident God.
  • The human dignity of each person as an image of God.
  • The Notre Dame educator as Gospel witness.
  • An integrated education for transformation.
The Sisters of Notre Dame gratefully acknowledge our many colleagues who have joined us in this vital ministry of service to the Church and all humankind.   One translation of the book of Daniel includes these words:  "and those who have taught many people to do what is right will shine like the stars forever"   (Daniel 12:3).

See you this Saturday--rain or shine.   Rain???  That is so last year!    Be sure to check out this video from last year--rain gear and all!
TIM DUNCAN,
ministering to the marginalized

"The SND Associate program helped to direct my attention to the marginalized members of society.  For now, God has pushed me towards the imprisoned." How different the world would be if each person took the time to stop and recognize the humanity of the marginalized!

The "Where are they now" feature of the SND Mission Advancement Egram will give updates on our colleagues and former students--anyone entrusted to our care.  We want to share how they live the SND mission by serving, leading, and giving hope within our diverse society.  To submit information for this column, please email Sarah Marcuse at [email protected].
SHOWING GRATITUDE IN SONG & DANCE,
Ugandan style

Sr. Kathleen Burns' ministry includes guidance of the newer members of the Sisters of Notre Dame around the world.  Recently, she visited the postulants in Uganda and she  wrote, "my time with our postulants had ended and as usual, they show their gratitude so beautifully! I will miss them!"

Enjoy this video, courtesy of Sr. Kathleen, of their farewell to her.   Note that they are wearing vintage Nun Run shirts!
