Squannacook Greenways wins second $10,000 grant from Bruce J. Anderson Foundation
Squannacook Greenways wins second $10,000 grant from Bruce J. Anderson Foundation
Squannacook Greenways is pleased to announce that they were awarded a  $10,000 grant from the Bruce J. Anderson Foundation in July 2017. This is the second year in a row we have won this grant for $10,000. With these two grants and the recent $15,000 grant from the Community Foundation of North Central Massachusetts, Squannacook Greenways' capital campaign is now above $117,000, almost 4/5th of the way to our goal of $150,000.

Informed by intelligence, sensitivity, and the knowledge of many countries and cultures, Bruce J. Anderson was a serious and idealistic young man who cared deeply about the problems he saw around him. The Bruce J. Anderson Foundation was established in 1980 by Bruce's brothers and sisters to honor Bruce and support the causes he championed. Squannacook Greenways, with its goal of making life better and more active for all residents, but especially younger ones, is proud to have again been choosen to receive this grant.

The Bruce J. Anderson Foundation is a supporting organization of the Boston Foundation.

What's next?
With this amount in the capital campaign, Squannacook Greenways will start contacting potential contractors as soon as permitting is complete. We hope to complete all needed fundraising by year's end with a matching membership drive and a drive focused on granite pillar donors.

With this grant our capital campaign is almost 80 percent complete.
