SBE's January Board Meeting is scheduled for the 15 and 16 and will be featured via ZOOM and linked on SBE Facebook and Twitter pages. Agenda items include staffing enrichment, graduation forecast, school recognition and more! Read the high-level preview on the SBE blog.
Join Board Members and staff for a community forum the night before the Board Meeting (January 14 from 6-8 p.m.). The topic: the adequacy and equity of new graduation pathway options for the Class of 2020 and beyond.

STEM Education Deep Dive with the Institute of Systems Biology (ISB)
SBE and ISB co-hosted an event this past week to take a deeper look into STEM education. Attendees completed a high school science activity which exemplified the standards and practices used by educators and talked about further student and organization engagement in STEM/STEAM.

Welcome J. Lee! New Director of Advocacy & Engagement Joins SBE Team
SBE has recently welcomed J. Lee Schultz, former Associate Director of External Affairs for the Washington Student Achievement Council, as the new Director of Advocacy and Engagement.
J. Lee will be the main contact at SBE for government relations and will help coordinate legislative efforts and strategies starting January 2020. Read her bio and find out more about all SBE staff on the SBE website.
