Join us May 18th and 19th at Nazareth College in Rochester for the inaugural NYSOTA Spring Education Summit . This summit provides a collaborative opportunity for occupational therapy educators (both academic and fieldwork) to come together to share ideas and best practices, teaching innovations, and future trends for occupational therapy education, fieldwork, and research.

Legislative Update
Legislative Chair Jeff Tomlinson has been diligently advocating for OT in Albany. Jeff has posted important updates on Workers' Compensation coverage of OTA services, Medicaid Cuts, OT and PT Insurance Reform, Early Intervention, and the New York Health Program. On January 14th, the OTA Workers' Comp bill S3969B by Senator Kennedy, was passed by the Senate Labor Committee!

WCB Q&A Webinar
Due to the high volume of interest in the WCB Business Information System (BIS) Project, the Workers' Compensation Board has scheduled a Q&A webinar to address stakeholder questions.The hour-long webinar will be held Tuesday, January 28, at 12:00 PM.

Next Generation Learning Standards - Are you ready?
The 2020-2021 school year will bring to fruition the full implementation of the New York State Next Generation Learning Standards. These new standards seek to ensure high-quality education opportunities for all students. A roadmap designed to assist educators with the transition can be found on the NYSED website.
