LSAW continues to work on behalf of Washington Land Surveyors to enhance and protect the profession. To continue and build upon these efforts, the Board of Directors requests you take a few minutes (less than five) to complete this survey. The information received will help us better understand our membership, determine what issues the membership believes are most pressing for the profession, and identify potential services/benefits that LSAW can offer members.
National Surveyors Week is March 15-21, 2020. LSAW will be requesting a proclamation from the Governor. How will you celebrate? Here are some ideas:
Give a presentation at a local school
Participate in the GPS on Benchmarks project
Provide a presentation to a Rotary Club, Chamber of Commerce, etc.
If you do something special for Surveyors Week, let us know! Email your pictures or story to

PLSO RECORD DONATIONS REQUEST
Are you, or do you know of anyone, holding unrecorded land survey records that are significant or indispensable to the survey community? Do you know of a survey business or retiring individual surveyor that may be “cleaning out” or “dumping” their survey records cache?
The Public Lands Survey Office (PLSO) of the Department of Natural Resources is asking for any information you have concerning these records caches that you may know about throughout the State of Washington. We know that these valuable records are being lost on a constant basis.
The PLSO exists, in part, to receive and collect unique land survey records, maps, and data. In compliance with
RCW 58.24.040(2)-(4) this office compiles, maintains, and publishes, survey maps and data which pertain to property boundary lines and survey monuments, including bench marks. This is in addition to filed records of survey and land corner records.
If you have (or know of) records, maps, and data the PLSO will:
Come to your site to inventory records.
Parse through the records to determine which are unique and valuable to the surveying community.
Arrange for pick-up and delivery.
Convert documents to electronic format.
Publish those documents determined to be of immediate value.
Keep a detailed record of donators, documents held, and location of documents.
Deliver from our records any document held upon request by anyone.
Anyone willing to make a donation to the PLSO may contact the PLSO Manager by the information below or access this
