Geography Bee

We held our annual Geography Bee this Thursday. It was a spirited competiton and we are so proud of all of our student participants! Ronak Ailawadi won first place followed by George Proenza-Coles and David Jaffe in second and third respectively. Ronak will now complete a written exam for the right to compete at the state competition in Richmond. Congratulations to all!
Debate Team Success!

Right before Thanksgiving, the Peabody's debate team took part in the Charlottesville Debate League's latest competition. Students from a number of local schools debated a resolution about whether or not the benefits of fracking outweigh the harms. The team of Ali Bird and Gabe Damiani were the winners! They went undefeated over four rounds. Caroline Grist, who was a "maverick" (the term for being a team of one), finished in third place. 
 
Kes Rodgers, Sascha Rosensweig, Joshua O'Neill Rossouw, Asha Parmar, Sahalia Mwenechanya, and Ronak Ailawadi also competed and did a great job.Congratulate these students when you see them!
Entrepreneurship Class Pop-Up Marketplace

 The Peabody Pop-Up Marketplace featuring original products designed by the 8th grade entrepreneurship class will occur next Thursday, 12/12, from 12:00 -12:45 on the ramp. The business teams are eager to show off their unique products. Items range in price from $2 to $5. We hope to see you there!
Author visits French Class

 On Tuesday, the local author, writer and illustrator, Amy Middleton Baird came to Kindergarten and First grade classes to read her books: "Blossom and Beenie Go to Paris" and "Charlie The Brave Little Bear". Students were very engaged and asked insightful questions after the reading. Thank you for your visit Amy!
Bring A Friend Day - RSVP by January 6

Have a friend who might be a good fit for Peabody? Peabody students in Grades 1st - 5th are invited to "Bring a Friend" to Peabody on January 21. Please email [email protected] by January 6 with the name, grade/school and parent contact/email information of the student that you’d like to invite. Spaces for visiting friends will be assigned first come, first served, to those students who have not visited BAF day before

Let There Be Light

You are invited to an evening of light-centered artworks illuminating the outdoors as the longest night of the year approaches. Our Middle School students, led by Mr. Haske, have created an amazing exhibit as part of the evening. The exhibition is from 6-9:00PM on Friday, December 13th on the grounds surrounding the V. Earl Dickinson Building at PVCC. We hope to see you there!
