Council Connect - February 2020
Happy 2020, Equity members!

New year, new energy! On behalf of Council, I wish you all a productive year with all the auditions, workshops, and theatre you can handle. Don't forget: if you ever have any Equity-related questions or concerns, your Councillor is ready to help you out! You can get in touch with us here.

Starting the year off with a bang, there are two upcoming events Equity members should have in their calendars.

I don't want you to miss out on either one!
Honours Awards

Later this month, Equity will hold its annual Honours Awards event and all members are invited to attend. The awards recognize members who’ve made outstanding contributions to Equity, its membership and the live performance community. The award nominations came from you, the members, and this is always a joyous, fun night for awardees, members, Council, and staff. It’s great to get a long view of a deserving recipient’s career and I’m looking forward to catching up with friends and colleagues to celebrate our own!

National Annual General Meeting

Equity’s 2019-2020 National Annual General Meeting is Monday March 9, 2020.

We have an exciting (and regionally inclusive!) spin on it this year. Via online meeting software platform Zoom, our National AGM will be entirely online and interactive: for the first time, members from across the country will be able to vote on motions and participate in discussions while watching online! Council is excited by how this makes our NAGM more accessible to more members, and staff is hard at work making sure every detail is in place. We hope to see you there, from the comfort of your own couch! More details

Yours in Equity,
Ryan G. Hinds
2nd Vice-President
Ontario Councillor
