No Time Like the Present for
Screener Training
Whether your goal is to initiate high-quality hearing screening practices for the first time, or to keep currently
trained screeners skilled up, January can be an excellent time to take action to meet your training needs. The ECHO Initiative is ready to assist by offering two 'not-to-be-missed' training opportunities. These free offerings will not be repeated in the near future, so take full advantage of one or both by registering through the links provided below.
January 14, 2020
The best hearing screening efforts are only as good as a program's ability to monitor and support children after the initial screening, to ensure that those who need it receive timely and appropriate evaluation and treatment.
Participants in this webinar will learn how to effectively:
1) Document OAE or Pure Tone screening results; 2) Monitor the status of children who are in the follow-up process; and 3) Use tracking data for screening program quality monitoring.
Four-Session Web Class: January 27th, 30th, February 3rd and 6th, 2020
This popular Web Class series will consist of four interactive web-based sessions lasting approximately 60 minutes each, along with skill-based assignments that allow participants to practice the concepts covered during the presentations.
Each class builds on information and activities from the previous session, so plan your schedule to attend all four sessions. Please note that the Web Class is an intensive learning experience for programs that have OAE screening equipment in hand. We encourage programs to have more than one individual attend to maximize practice and retention of content.
By the end of this Web Class, participants will be able to:
1) Plan and implement an OAE screening program; 2) Explain how OAE screening works; 3) Conduct OAE screening with young children; 4) Outline the necessary follow-up steps when a child does not pass the screening; and 5) Track children through the screening and follow-up protocol.
Individuals who attend all sessions and complete all assignments will receive a Certificate of Completion.
