DIABETES PREVENTION PROGRAM CLASSES

On February 7 th  UHC began educational classes on diabetes prevention. The Diabetes Prevention Program classes are adapted from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to help patients avoid or delay Type 2 diabetes. In the hour-long sessions, participants receive lifestyle coaching for healthy eating, exercise and weight loss. Group sessions meet weekly for 16 weeks at UHC health centers in Kerman, Huron, Orange Cove, Parlier, Mendota and Fowler. For more information call 1-800-492-4227
 

UHC FOUNDATION IS ACCEPTING DONATIONS FOR PROM TREASURES 

The UHC Foundation is now accepting donations of pristine dresses, shoes, tuxes, men's suits and prom accessories at the Parlier Health Center located at 650 Zediker or for pick-up contact Pedro Santana, Foundation Economic Development Manager, at 559-646-6618 ext. 3575

The program is open to the public and welcomes participating organizations or businesses to support the program that will be held Saturday, March 24 th  from 9am - 2pm at the UHC Corporate offices in Parlier.

UHC WIC RIVERDALE HOSTS ICE CREAM SOCIAL  

Families in Riverdale enjoyed a Valentine's Day Ice Cream Social at the UHC WIC Office on February 13 th The free event included several flavors of ice cream from Baskin Robbins and provided information about the WIC Program and about new Dental and Optometry services at the UHC health center in Lemoore. More than 250 bowls of ice cream were provided to students and their parents by marketing staff and UHC volunteers.

 
UHC ATTENDS NEGOCIANTES UNIDOS BREAKFAST MEETING 


UHC marketing staff participated in the January 31 st  Negociantes Unidos Breakfast Meeting, which featured comments by Fresno Mayor Lee Brand as the Keynote Speaker.  

The event at Los Amigos Mexican Restaurant provided a great opportunity to meet with representatives from various Fresno businesses and organizations.
