New Year's Day is Inauguration Day
Please join us at the Joseph G. Caputo Community Center at noon on New Year's Day for the inauguration of newly elected and re-elected officials. Ossining's tradition of inaugurating officials at this auspicious time is dictated by the Village Charter. Did you know that Ossining is one of only a dozen charter villages in NYS, and we are the oldest in Westchester? That means that some of our code, like the time and date of inauguration, is unique to our village.

The ceremony and reception to follow are free and open to the public. I hope to see you there!

Community Connections
There will be no Open Office Hours tomorrow. I look forward to welcoming community members to come to the Board of Trustees office on January 7 from 10am until 12noon.

Have a burning question or idea, at any hour of the day or night?... Email me (mayor@villageofossining.org), Village Manager Karen D'Attore (kdattore@villageofossining.org) or the Board of Trustees (bot@villageofossining.org).

Kicking off the New Year
January 8 will be our first public meeting of the year. The agenda for this annual reorganizational meeting that kicks off each year includes approving the public meeting calendar, renewal of village policies, as well as appointments of liaison positions, the Village Historian, and members of Village boards/committees.

There is no Village Board meeting this week. Instead, the community will gather at noon for the inauguration ceremony at the Community Center.

With Regards,
Victoria Gearity, Ossining Mayor
Ossining's Double Arch
At long last the Broadway Bridge reopened earlier this month. The finishing touches will be completed in January and we'll celebrate with a ribbon cutting and a presentation about the history of Ossining's iconic double arch.
