Cultural Council Celebrates Educators and Artists in New Exhibition

The Cultural Council of Palm Beach County officially celebrates its 40th Anniversary in May and will commemorate the occasion with a special exhibition celebrating the artist faculty of the school named after its founder, Alexander W. Dreyfoos.

 "Educators and Artists" will feature work in various mediums by 40 past and present faculty of Dreyfoos School of the Arts. The show opened to the public on May 25 and will run through August 18 in the Council's main gallery in downtown Lake Worth. Read more...
School's Out But Education Continues with Summer Learning and Reading
The School District of Palm Beach County's Summer Learning Inspirations program gives K-12 students the opportunity to engage in fun reading and learning during the summer, helping to prepare them for school in the fall. It also helps them maintain the progress they made during the school year.

The Summer Learning website for students and families contains hundreds of activities and resources available in all subject areas, including suggested book lists, and locations to discover in Palm Beach County. Learn more...

Palm Beach Post: West Boca Raton HS Students Honored for Saving Bus Driver's Life

Palm Beach Post -  Two  West Boca Raton Community High School  students were honored with Youth Awards at the  Safety Council of Palm Beach County, Inc. 's Distinguished Service Awards Luncheon for helping to save their bus driver's life.

"Out of nowhere, she [bus operator Stacy McRae] turned around and told me she couldn't breathe," student Stephanie Decosma shared last week.  "I didn't think. I didn't have time to think. I just acted."  Read more...
Register Now for the Summer Literacy Institute: June 11-14 and July 30-August 2

The Division of Teaching and Learning is set to host the Summer Literacy Institute, with this year's theme of "Riding the Wave of Literacy Through the Content Areas."

The Institute will be held June 11-14 and July 30-August 2. It's a conference designed for school and District leaders, as well as literacy/ELA teachers to learn more about literacy integration for all students into all content areas.

The conference is open to all administrators, teachers, and District staff and supports attendees' professional development. Participants do not have to be present for each day of the Institute. During registration, you can choose the specific workshops you wish to attend.  Read more...

The School District of Palm Beach County wants to hear from parents, employees, students, business leaders and the community about how they're getting their news about the District, and how they want the District to share news with them.

Today is the final day for employees, parents and community members to participate in an  online survey to share their thoughts on how they want to receive news from the District - whether it's by email, mobile app, information posted on the District's website, or posts shared on social media.  Learn more...
