Renowned artist Terrol Johnson was ten when he learned basket weaving. As an adult he's taken that experience to new heights with contemporary works influenced by traditional basketry design and philosophy. His cutting-edge pieces include collaborative work now on display at the Museum of Modern Art. See his art at the Celebration of Basketry & Native Foods Nov. 12-15, 2016.

Trees are approaching their dormant period, the ideal time for pruning. In this class you'll learn how the anatomy of trees and the way they grow determines the pruning method. Other topics include the appropriate time of year for pruning specific trees and shrubs, how much wood to remove, tool maintenance and more. Then it's time to put your new skills to work by practicing on the Museum's trees!
A VOTE FOR THE FUTURE

Prop 427 is more than tourism promotion- it's capital funding to improve local attractions. The Museum's Coast to Canyons: Journey of the Jaguar will be a 1.4 acre exhibit, the first major one since the mid-1990's. It will feature iconic native animals and plants of the southern Sonoran Desert region. The Museum has already raised its matching funds and will cover operating and maintenance costs. Read more -- and remember to vote on Nov. 3.
