Next Level Engagement: LCUL Introduces Political Advocate Program
The Louisiana Credit Union League works around the clock to advance the credit union mission and foster the public trust via multilayered grassroots efforts, CULAC fundraising, and community involvement. As our advocacy efforts grow, we recognize that there is a need to ensure that our communications are effectively delivered to the proper audience. We are ready to bring our advocacy efforts to the next level with the Political Advocate Program.

Identified by the credit union CEO, the primary role for the individual selected is to ensure that your credit union is ready to move when they need to. Your credit union's political advocate will identify credit union staff and board members who are willing to become politically active when alerted by the League on a critical legislative or regulatory issue.

As a benefit, political advocates will receive 50% discount to the state GAC as well as an invitation to local and statewide events such as meet & greets, in district meetings, and other functions.

50 Thanksgiving Dinners distributed by New Orleans Firemen's FCU
New Orleans Firemen's Federal Credit Union (NOFFCU) collected and distributed fifty Thanksgiving meal baskets with the help of the Bogalusa School Board. NOFFCU has an active presence in Bogalusa, one of the only financial institutions in the area.

This was brought together by the generosity and compassion of NOFFCU employees who helped collect, pack, and distribute the meal baskets. Each meal basket contained a 15 lb. turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, cornbread, vegetables, dessert, as well as other items.

"Approximately 17.9% of children, that's 1-in-6, face food insecurity in Louisiana," stated Judy DeLucca, NOFFCU CEO. "It could happen to any one of us. It is a nationwide crisis that has many faces, appearing in urban areas as well as rural communities. It speaks to our core values to help our community neighbors."

NOFFCU anticipates making this a memorable partnership with the Bogalusa School Board. The positive feedback from the community ensures this will become an annual tradition.
