Greetings team - just a quick note to share information geared towards families attending a swim meet at the U of MD for the first time. If your child is not swimming in this meet, please disregard this email.

- Location: Eppley Recreation Center at the University of Maryland
- Notes from past attendees & meet notice:
- Facility
- Drop your swimmer off at the bottom of the stairs (outside).
- Swimmers/families are not permitted to walk the stairs through the center of the Eppley Center - use the outdoor stairs.
- Swimmers must enter and exit through the athlete entrance (@ rear left corner of building - see picture below - there is a roundabout for drop off).
- No swimmers will be permitted to enter or exit through the turnstiles adjacent to the spectator areas (inside the building).
- No swimmers will be permitted up the stairs to the vending machines or snack bars.
- No spectators will be allowed on deck unless they are registered as a volunteer and have a volunteer badge.
- Swimmer preparation
- Swimmers are allowed only 1 bag on deck.
- Swimmers may not bring folding chairs on the pool deck.
- The facility is rather large and it may be difficult to connect with your swimmer in person during the meet (make sure they have food, snacks and other items needed for the meet).
- This is usually a very crowded meet; encourage your swimmer to pay attention and line up early so s/he doesn't miss his or her race.
- There will be two pools in use so be sure your swimmer knows that the race order will be either 1,3,5,7...(girls) or 2,4,6,8...(boys). For example, your daughter should line up during event 5 if racing in event 7 (since there won't be a race 6 at the girls pool).
- Spectator preparation
- Limited concessions will be available on the spectator level. Check out the campus dining map and restaurants/hours. Most campus dining options are closed for winter break.
- There are two pools - one for boys & one for girls. Confirm the assignments before choosing your seat.
- No strollers, coolers, folding chairs, or oversized stadium seats will be permitted on the spectator level.
