New Study Confirms RVCC's Benefits to Students, Tax Payers, Society
A new economic impact study shows that RVCC has a significant, positive impact on the regional economy and benefits students by raising their lifetime earnings and quality of life.

RVCC First Two-Year School in US to Reach Carbon Neutrality
RVCC is the first two-year institution of higher education in the country to reach carbon neutrality--which is defined as having no net emissions after minimizing the carbon footprint as much as possible and offsetting the remaining emissions.

Information Sessions, Campus Tours Scheduled in February
Learn about all RVCC has to offer by attending an Information Session and touring the campus, February 9, 10-11 a.m. (Conference Center, Room 101); February 15, 4-6 p.m. (Atrium, College Center, lower level); and February 19, 10-11 a.m. (Atrium).
Special lunch-hour Information Sessions for Adults will be held February 16, 12:15-12:45 p.m. and 1:15-1:45 p.m. (Conference Center, Room 101). Additional sessions for adults will be held February 10, 9-10 a.m. (Conference Center, Room 101), and February 19, 3:30-4:30 p.m. (Conference Center, Room 101).

Electric Utility Technology Program Information Session Planned
Learn about how to become a line worker or substation electrician in the electric utility industry by attending an information session for the Power Systems Institute program offered by Jersey Central Power & Light, a FirstEnergy Company, in partnership with RVCC, February 13, 6-8 p.m., in the RVCC Conference Center.

RVCC to Participate in National Signing Day Event
High school students interested in training for careers in Automotive Technology, Advanced Manufacturing, Cosmetology, Esthetics, HVAC, or Commercial Energy Management Technology are invited to participate in a National Signing Day event, February 15, 11 a.m., in RVCC's Workforce Training Center. The College is joining thousands of participants at 40 different schools in this national event, during which students declare their intent to pursue one of the career programs at RVCC.

Employer Open House Showcasing HVAC Programs Slated
Area employers are invited to tour RVCC's new Workforce Training Center, learn about its HVAC and Commercial Energy Management programs, and meet with students at a special Employer Open House, March 27, 5-8 p.m.

New Professional Development Programs Slated
RVCC is offering several new professional development programs this winter and spring. Classes are held in the College's Workforce Training Center. Programs being offered include: Administrative Assistant Certification, Six Sigma, Certified Management Accounting, Fundamental Payroll Certification, AutoCAD, Change Management, Working Across Generations, and Real Estate.

Educators Invited to Seminar on Confronting Genocide
Local educators may participate in a seminar sponsored by the Institute for Holocaust and Genocide Studies at RVCC. "Confronting Genocide: Never Again," presented by Mimi Stevens, Professional Development Director of The Choices Program at Brown University, will be held March 21, 4-7:30 p.m., in the Holocaust and Genocide Resource Room at RVCC's Evelyn S. Field Library.
Registration fee: $25 registration (includes dinner and copy of the Confronting Genocide: Never Again? curriculum)
Participants receive 3 Professional Development credits

Film Screenings, Performances, Lectures, Exhibition Set for Black History Month
RVCC will present a number of events on campus in February in celebration of Black History Month. Programs include a film series, theatrical performances about Martin Luther King, Jr. and Paul Robeson, a photo exhibition, lectures and a Diversity Fair.

RVCC Salon, Spa Open to the Public
Protégé, a salon and spa located in RVCC's Workforce Training Center, is open to the public. Protégé offers a variety of beauty and hair services including hair styling/cutting, coloring and hair treatments; manicures; facials; waxing; and makeup application. All services are performed by RVCC Cosmetology students under the supervision of licensed professionals. Appointments are available Thursdays, noon -7 p.m., and Fridays, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
