Love is in the air! What do you love about the work you do?
How fortunate we are to be doing what we love, and loving what we do! This is the time of year when I like to renew my passion for my work by gaining new inspirations and ideas by attending webinars, workshops, and making artsy gifts for loved ones. February is a month that is perfectly made to fall in love with what you do.
I recently fell in love with the 2018-2019 Board of Directors! At the board training, we focused on the importance of
organizational vibrancy
, looking deeply at the strategic planning, and committee work. We celebrated the diversity each of us brings to the board and the historical legacy of carrying on the work that Millicent Chamberlain, a passionate art teacher at Miami-Edison High School, had started way back in the 1940s. We reflected upon our “piece” that we uniquely bring to the board. What “piece” can you bring? Please consider the
call for volunteers to serve on a committee
to help lead our organization.
Help your students become life-long lovers of art by submitting their work in the
FAEA K-12 Student Art Assessment and Virtual Exhibition
. The purpose of this program is to serve as a statewide assessment for visual art. It promotes the achievements of students enrolled in your visual art classes. The deadline for submissions is quickly approaching on
March 5
. Please visit the
FAEA website
for more information.
If you are traveling to the NAEA Conference, join us to celebrate and give some love to the award winners in Seattle at the
NAEA Southeastern Region Awards on Friday, March 23
rd
at 1:00pm
.
Above all, be sure to take time to
give yourself the love that you need
, so that you can continue to find energized passion for the important work you do each day. Rediscover and reconnect to what makes your eyes sparkle and your heart beat!
